STRIKER is a stand-alone alarm and OC gas discharge system that provides volumetric space protection against theft and vandalism. When Armed, the system monitors an area for intrusion. Should intrusion be detected, the system will provide multiple, timed discharges of OC gas into the area being protected, chasing the intruders away. Should they return at a later stage, additional OC gas will be discharged.
Oleoresin-Capsicum (OC) gas, also known as pepper gas, is a highly effective agent that has been used for many years to break up fights and subdue unbalanced individuals and animals. It causes instant inflammation of the mucous membranes, burning eyes, coughing and an intense burning sensation. It is a natural food substance and is non-toxic and safe. People exposed to the gas should recover fully within 45 minutes. Canisters of OC gas are freely available over shop counters and have been used in the self-defence industry for many years.
For protection of very large areas and to increase the amount of gas discharged, a slave OC gas unit, controlled from the main unit, can be installed.
